Common Samsung hard disk failures

Samsung hard disk is generally low-cost, reliable and performs well. However, like all other hard disks, Samsung hard disks could fail from crashing head and bad sectors.

One common failure observed is Samsung disk may suddenly refuse to boot up with light clicking sound emitted. Desktop system BIOS then could not detect the disk any more. If the user could shut down the power immediately, there will be a high chance of successful recovery.

In other instances, the system may go sluggish and eventually fail completely due to proliferation of bad sectors.

Another common failure is the disk may suddenly stop spinning and completely dead without response to BIOS detection or system probe.
